What you will get out of this training

You will explore, practice, and hone your skills on new facilitation concepts and tools that will give you the confidence to tackle any meeting – from a regular team check-in to a two-day planning meeting – right away. During this training you will:

  • Learn IbD’s powerful framework for facilitation. This framework encompasses our roadmap for pre-planning and information gathering, creating the right agenda, and using various tools and techniques to execute effective meetings with meaningful outcomes.

  • Receive a workbook with step-by-step instructions, tools, and tips.

  • Practice honing your skills by facilitating sessions with peers.

  • Discover solutions for dealing with difficult situations in planning and leading meetings.

  • Build connections to a network of fellow facilitators.

What it will be like

IbD creates learning environments that are highly dynamic, inclusive, interactive, and fun. You will be engaging with content and fellow participants in a variety of ways. There will be opportunities to discuss, read, listen, move around, flex your skills, and engage with new ideas through hands-on practice. You will also have the opportunity to workshop real-world, practical scenarios based on your own experience.

You will enjoy our workshop if your top priority is genuinely creating the right kinds of spaces for groups to have meaningful discussion and make tough decisions. This training will feel worthwhile if you want to stretch your thinking, try something new, and get out of your facilitation comfort zone. IbD offers specific insights and expertise to those working in the conservation, animal welfare, and environment sector, but all professionals committed to mission-driven causes are welcome.

Who will the trainers be?

IbD co-founders Amielle DeWan and Hanna Lentz-Harry will be the lead trainers for this workshop. If you are interested in learning more about them, check out our team page.

Where is the training located?

This training will take place in Washington DC, 20001. We will provide the street address after registration or upon request.

When will this training take place?

The training will be held on Monday, October 21st and Tuesday October 22nd. Participants can expect to be engaged through normal business hours (9am to 5pm).

What does the price of the training include?

On top of two full days of training with our expert facilitators, this price includes all training materials, supplies, and printouts. Lunch, snacks, coffee, tea and other beverages are also included.

Do I need to come for the whole time?

Yes, please. To leave with the skills and knowledge we are promising you need to plan on being there for two full days.

How do I get to the training venue?
